What a gesture of kindness, love, and honor! I wish the world would salute the parents of the child who gave his life for a chance for peace and reconciliation between warring parties.
My condolences and admiration to the Chativ family. Mr. Chativ, In Yiddish you would be called mentch. One in a million. I honor you and your wife for your courage and determination, and your clear vision of what could be if everyone truly cared.
Your strength at your time of great loss makes my eyes tear. Please know that even though the pain in your hearts will never go away, your child will live on through the children who have received his gift of life. Without your generosity they would have died.
You gained a daughter who cradles your son's heart. You gained an extended family of Arabs, Jews, and Druz who will forever be part of you. I wish for the young girl who received your son's heart to grow into a kind and peaceful young lady, who will share the peace in her new heart with others in the memory of your fallen son.
Peace.
