Gentlemen,
Having sent a letter directly to his Majesty the King, I feel a
similar letter should reach your desks.
Subject: Words uttered by Brigadir-General of Israel's Central Command.
Playing ''broken Plates'' with the Israeli Gov. will not benefit Jordan,
Israel or the Hashemit Family. Israel Is not your enemy (at least not
in Israeli minds).
After the ''great Win'' of Hammas in recent Palestinian elections, the
1st. step Jordan's King Abdullah took, was to invite Hammas to re-open
their offices in Amman.
Forgive me, but it is similar to inviting the neighborhood cat to
assume guard at your central milk plant in Amman.
I am sure the Late King Hussein, would not take such action and if so,
certainly not so soon after the elections. He would wait to see where
the ''wind was blowing'' and then take an educated decision, based on
facts on the ground.
Israel allocated to Jordan huge amount of live water, far beyond the
amount stipulated in the bi-latteral agreement. Attacking Israel after
having invited Mr. Ismail Heneya to Amman is both rediculous and out
of order.
With Jordan's population of Palestinian affiliation at over 75%, of
the total, your Gov. and Military should indeed take Immediate
measures to insure the King and the
Hashemite Family maintain continuity - but I fail to see how an attack
on Israel and an apology received, will insure that goal.
Israeli airforce pilots - saved the life of the late King Hussein when
Syrian plans were chasing his plan, with the aim to kill the King. and
today your Gov. and King feel Israel is the enemy? come-on gentlemen,
wake up and take real steps against real threats.
Visiting Eilat I see the Hashemit Flag flying big, shinny and high
over the King's Palace.
I am confident that by taking the right steps, this flag will be there
for years to come.
Should you receive ill advice, you know only too well, which flag will
fly there, comes the day.
kind regards,
Simon
