The best place to find it is within yourself , where ever you are. As for the temples in India and the different Gods, if you think they literally believe in physical gods you are mistaken. Gods are the human's way to have a connection with different archetypal energies in the human psyche (Refer to C.G.Jung for a longer explanation.) We humans project out internal world on the gods so as to have an exteranl relationship with out inner parts.
