| Patents make you slaves to big corporations, and nasty unemployed lawyers.
Patents is OK if you realy invent something. However these days thousands of patents are written on every trivial nonsense for the following reasons:
1) The patent lawyers, the patent issuers, the patent courts, and patent registrars makes tons of money out of it.
2) Every company with money can attack small companies for violating trivial things.
Try yourself to develop and market some simple and nice internet software, or high tech machine, and you'll have dozens of unemployed lawyers and large corporations.
People being proud of patents are similar to a prisoner proud of his new high-tech cains.
