| i'm not sure whether you read the merchant of venice or not, but obviously you like to fall into popular prejudice. there is a jewish architype in the movie but it's hugely humane. just remember shylock gives one of the most insightful monologues shakespeare has written. it wasn't shylock's intention to take a piece of antonio's flesh. antonio just couldn't repay his loan.
btw, the movie sucks, but it has nothing to do with anticemetism.
